Technology improves delivery of information to community

ison County has a smartphone app that allows the office to communicate much more effectively with the community. The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department app is a free download and is available for both iPhone and Android smart devices. Users simply search “Harrison County Sheriff’s Department”, or click one of the icons below. Once you download the app, make sure to allow the app access to send your push notifications.
Users of the app will have access to information such as contact information for the Sheriff’s Department as well as local law enforcement and court departments, real-time detention center information with mug shots, charges and offender information, HCSD events, forms, county ordinances and much more. The public will also be able submit anonymous tips about criminal activity.
Important alerts that can be pushed right to a user’s smartphone includes news about law enforcement activity in the community, manhunts, weather warnings and other local emergencies.
Another way to receive information from the Sheriff’s Department is through our new texting system. Simply text the word “HCSheriff” to 955-77 to receive the same messages we send through the app.
