The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office’s Narcotics Division consists of eleven highly trained Investigators. Eight of these Investigators are tasked with working street level Narcotics and the three are assigned to Federal Task Forces that include DEA/HIDTA, U.S. Marshal’s Service and ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms).
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office also houses and controls the Coastal Narcotics Enforcement Team or CNET. This task force consists of five Investigators from other Gulf Coast partnering agencies, the D’Iberville Police Department, Biloxi Police Department, Long Beach Police Department, Pass Christian Police Department, Gulfport Police Department and The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. This allows a wide range of Narcotics enforcement all over the Gulf Coast to include other surrounding Counties. With all local Narcotics Investigators working together information sharing creates a higher arrest rate and makes combating the illegal drug trade federal and locally more successful in our communities.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office also has a Criminal Interdiction Division which is made up of four proactive patrol units. These units enforce traffic laws on the highways and Interstates within Harrison County. They work cases such as drug smuggling, trafficking, illegal trafficking of weapons and humans.
