Explorer Post 327 is a chartered organization of the Boy Scouts of America. Exploring is a co-ed program designed with the intent to educate and involve young adults in police operations and eventually into a successful law enforcement career.

Explorers receive the opportunity to broaden their understanding and first-hand knowledge of the challenges and job skills that make up their county sheriff’s department, in areas such as community relations, crime prevention, corrections, radio communications and patrol. All activities are done under the supervision of department members and/or qualified advisors.

Harrison County Sheriff’s Department Explorer Post 327 is a Junior Police organization sponsored by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office. Explorers are from the ages of 14-20 years. The explorers learn discipline and structure. For more information please contact Sgt. Luther Leach:
