The Community Relations Division of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department is made up of  full time employees and countless volunteers. All are charged with the duties of making sure the community understands and is aware of the many services Harrison County Sheriff’s Department offer the citizens of Harrison County. We accomplish this with many community outreach programs.

The award winning Neighborhood Watch Program leads the way by staying in contact with the citizenry through countless neighborhood meetings to address the law enforcement needs of each unique area of Harrison County. There are some 65 Neighborhood Watch programs reaching some 1200+ families on a regular basis to make sure they are informed of the actions the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department. The citizens of Harrison County know that through the Neighborhood Watch Program they are one phone call away from finding someone to assist them in maintaining the quality of life they enjoy in Harrison County, Mississippi.

The anti-bullying program B.R.A.V.E. (B-ullying R-esistance A-nti V-iolence E-ducation) is the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department answer to the growing problem of bullying and violence among our young people. Violence among our young people, especially in our schools, is unacceptable, so we began teaching the research based on Second Step and Steps to Respect program sponsored by the Committee for Children. We used the research from the Committee for Children and foundation of the Second Step program and developed a program that addressed the needs of the children of Harrison County and the result was B.R.A.V.E. This program is tailored to fit each school in the Harrison County School District and the issues that relate to these students. The program has showed great promise in teaching the students how to solve their problems without resorting to violence.

If you would like to participate in our B.R.A.V.E. Summer camp as a volunteer, please contact 228-865-7074

For students who would like to attend the camp, please contact 228-865-7074
